Styling and Visibility

One distinct advantage that the Subaru Outback has over many of its competitors it driver visibility. When you look at the profile pictures of these two vehicles you will notice how the windows of the Venza narrow towards the rear of the vehicle. The Outback maintains height in the windows farther back. This makes for much better driver visibility on the road especially when it comes to changing lanes.
Safety
Â
While both vehicles are well rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), only the Subaru Outback was named a Top Safety Pick+. On models equipped with the new Subaru EyeSight System the car is rated as superior in front crash prevention.

In the picture on the left you see a diagram of how the Subaru Symmetrical AWD works.
On the right you see a diagram of how the Toyota "On Demand" 4WD works.
One of the biggest things that stands out is how much more simple the
flow of power is in the Subaru. The Toyota has many right angles which
makes it much more difficult to get the power to the wheels. The other
main difference between these systems is the fact that the Subaru system
is working all 4 wheels all the time. The Toyota only engages the rear
wheels when it sense slipping in front.
